Post: Struck by Lightning by Chris Colfer. This week I read 81% to 84%.
In Struck by Lightning by Chris Colfer, I am at the part where Carson got called down to the guidance counselor's office to talk about the college he applied to, and needed to get into or his whole life plan of becoming a writer would be ruined. When Carson go to the guidance counselors office he was told he got accepted, but he didn't accept it in time. Carson was confused because he checked the mail everyday and never got letter. After this, he got a call that his grandma in the nursing home down the street had fallen and hurt herself. He went there and met up with is mom, who is divorced and is always drinking.
I think the author put the part in where the grandma fell, to lead up to how he didn't get accepted. I think it has something to do with his mom because she hasn't said anything about his plan so far. I think it might also have been the grandma, who has Alzheimer's. I think the grandma, unknowingly, threw away the letter or opened it and never showed it to Carson. I also think the letter could have gotten lost in the mail or it was never sent, or someone forgot to send it.
I would like to read this book. It seems like a very good book. I think Isabelle did a very good job and went into great detail about the book. Overall, it was a fantastic blog
ReplyDeleteI like your inference about the grandma possibly opening the letter...It seems like a suspenseful yet interesting book.
ReplyDeleteI like that you are trying to predict what happens next in the book. You'll have to let me know next time whether you were right in your predictions or not!
