This week in The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Isaac, a blind member of their support group, just lost his sight forever and his girlfriend broke up with him because of this. Hazel and Gus hardly talked and if they did, it was about books the recommended. After a long week of not talking Gus showed up at Hazel's house with a picnic waiting for them. Hazel's parents were over excited about this because Hazel doesn't have a lot of friends.
I thought this weeks reading was kind of boring. Nothing really happened in this chapter, except them both only talking about books. You have to read the books to even understand what they were talking about. Although it was boring the end of the chapter left you wanting to read the next chapter. I liked how it has two different story lines. One is of Gus and Hazel and the other is all about Isaac and his girlfriend. So far I am really liking the book.

The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins pg. 1-24

     This week I started reading The Huger Games, by Suzanne Collins. In the chapter Collins described what the life in district 12 is like. Their town was very poor and dull. Everyone had to hunt to eat, trade to get goods, and live under the capitals rules. Katniss only has a mom and Collins didn't mention what happened to her dad. Katniss is very close with her sister Prim and her friend Gale.
     In the reading, when Collins described Katniss's mother as a quiet and cautious woman. I don't think she acts like a mother should. Katniss acts like more of a mother than Prim's actual mother. She provides the food and helps to keep their lives together. I don't like how Collins did not explain how their father died. It leaves you wanting to keep reading to find out.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower By Stephen Chbosky 1-27

     This week I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower  By Stephen Chbosky pages 1-27. In the reading, Charlie is just lost his best friend. He's really confused and doesn't know how to live is life with out him. Going back to school was like starting school all over again. He sits alone at lunch and sees a table of kids who look like their having fun. He wouldn't stop admiring how they got along so well.
      I think the beginning of the book was not a very good beginning. It started off with a kid dieing. They don't give that much information about the characters. I was a little bit confused when the other characters were talking. I didn't know who they were and what their relationship with Charlie was. Besides the beginning, I think later in the book it will all fall together.
